Jenna McCullough registered 11 kills without an error and
Ella Schellenberg posted her third straight double-double, but King posted a 3-0 (29-27, 25-20, 25-18) victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Wednesday night.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 4-15 overall and 4-7 in league play. The Tornado improves to 7-12, 4-6.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- McCullough's team high attacking came on 21 attempts, giving her a .524 hitting percentage. That is tied for fourth-best in school history.
- Tyler Case added eight kills, while Lola Sultenfuss and Cameron Young added seven each.
- Schellenberg dished out 32 assists and had 13 digs. It was her sixth double-double of the season.
- Lily Marsh led the defensive effort with 18 digs.
- Five different players served an ace -- Riley Nickol, Alyssa Adkins, Young, Case and Marsh.
- The Abbey hit .153 as a team, while King connected at a .208 clip.
