ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- Matteo Miselli and Alex Winiarczyk each reached double figures in kills, but Belmont Abbey dropped a 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21) decision to Fairleigh Dickinson Satuday morning at the JBJ Battle for the Boardwalk.

The Crusaders fall to 1-2 on the opening weekend after splitting two matches on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Miselli tallied 12 kills, the third time in as many matches that he has had 10 or more, while Winiarczyk added 11 kills.
• Matthew Maxwell dished out 34 assists, while Daniel Cerqua led the defensive effort with 12 digs.
• The Crusaders registered eight aces, with three players serving two each.
• The two teams will meet again on March 16 in the Wheeler Center.
