Matteo Miselli topped double figures in kills in both matches Friday, leading Belmont Abbey to a split of two matches at the JBJ Battle for the Boardwalk at Harrah's Resort and Casino in Atlantic City. The Crusaders defeated Eastern Nazarene 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-21) in the opener before dropping a 3-0 decision (25-23, 25-15, 25-20) to St. Francis-Brooklyn in the nightcap/
The Abbey wraps up play tomorrow morning against Fairleigh Dickinson.
THE OPENER
- Miselli registered 12 kills against six errors for a .261 hitting percentage.
- Ethan Rehmann and Matthew Stauskunas both hit over .500 with seven kills each. Rehmann did not have and error in nine chances (.778), while Stauskunas has just one error (.545).
- Matthew Maxwell dished out 31 assists, while Miselli added five digs.
THE NIGHTCAP
- Miselli hit .240 with 11 kills in 25 attempts. He also tallied six digs, tied with Rehmann for the team lead.
- Maxwell had 20 of the team's 21 assists and added five digs.
