BRISTOL, Tenn. --
Wade Jackson scored 24 points, including a three-pointer and free throw that broke a 64-64 tie, leading Belmont Abbey to an 83-75 victory at King in in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Wednesday night. The four points came at the 4:43 mark and started a 10-2 run that ended with a 74-66 advantage with 2:24 left.
With its 12th win in the last 14 outings, The Abbey improves to 12-6 overall and 8-2 in league play. The Tornado falls to 5-11, 4-6.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ryan Maslow tallied a season-best 14 points, while KJ Garrett added 12 points and a career-best eight assists.
- Charles Solomon and Mason Taylor both chipped in 11 points as five players reached double figures.
- Solomon led the team in rebounding with eight, while making four steals.
- The Crusaders dished out 18 assists in the contest with Jackson and Taylor credited with four each.
- Belmont Abbey outshot King 44.1 percent to 36.2 percent.
- Michael Mays of King led all scorers with 32 points.
