Mia Samaha and
Haley Davidson both topped double figures in kills and Belmont Abbey tied a season-high for digs to earn a 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 25-23) victory over Lees-McRae in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Wednesday night. Samaha's 13 kills marked the fifth time she has topped 10 this season, while the 12 by Davidson were a season-high.
With the result, the Crusaders improve to 3-17 overall and 1-5 in league play. The Bobcats fall to 3-13, 2-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Abbey outhit LMC .165 to .102. Caitlyn Faber registered a .700 hitting percentage with eight kills against one error in 10 chances.
- In addition to her kill total, Faber added 39 assists and eight digs.
- Zoe Schuberth led the defensive effort with 15 digs, while Trinity Bradley chipped in 11.
- Baylee Botello had five blocks (one solo and four assists) as the Crusaders totalled 17 as a team.
