CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Belmont Abbey closed the in-season tournament portion of the 2022 women's volleyball schedule with a split of two matches at the UC Invitational. The Crusaders earned a 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-22, 25-21) victory over Bloomsburg in the morning before falling 3-0 (25-18, 25-9, 25-13) to the host Golden Eagles later in the day.

With the results, The Abbey improves to 2-11 on the season.

THE OPENER

• Three Crusaders topped double figures in kills -- Mia Samaha (career-high-tying 15), Jenna McCullough (season-high 13) and Cameron Young (12).
• Caitlyn Faber dished out 41 assists and had a pair of blocks.
• Zoe Schuberth had career highs in digs (21), assists (six) and aces (tied with three)
• Caroline Dobson (15) and Trinity Bradley (10) also reached double figures in digs
• Samaha added three aces, while Baylea Botello added five blocks.
• The Crusaders' .307 hitting percentage was a season-high.

THE NIGHTCAP

• Young tallied seven kills, while Samaha and Sarah Wilson added five each.
• Ella Schellenberg was credited with 10 assists, while Faber totaled eight.
• Bradley, Schellenberg and Schuberth each had five digs.
• Batello registered three blocks.
