BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey women's soccer team wrapped up a stretch of four home games in the first five contests as it hosted North Greenville in a Conference Carolinas match on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Almuni Field.
Belmont Abbey had several quality chances to score but it was North Greenville who came away with the 1-0 victory. The start of the game was pushed back 90 minutes due to inclement weather and field conditions.
Belmont Abbey is now 0-3-2 overall and 0-1-1 mark in league play. Saturday's contest was the first conference match of the season for North Greenville as it moves to a 1-2-1 record.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Belmont Abbey had a couple of chances to score early by earning three corner kicks and a pair of shots within the first six minutes of the match.
- The lone goal of the match came in the 29th minute from North Greenville.
- One of Belmont Abbey's best chances came in the 63rd minute when a shot from Logan Parry went off the crossbar.
- The Abbey finished with 11 shots, including five on goal.
- Paige D'Agostin led the team with three shots and two shots on goal.
- Lauryn Harding made a season-best saves for Belmont Abbey in Saturday's match.
