SNOW HILL, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey men's golf team took over the 36-hole lead after shooting a second round 289 at the Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship Monday at Cutter Creek Golf Club. The Crusaders lead by three shots over second-place Erskine (302-296—598) and six shots over third-place Barton (304-297—601).
Belmont Abbey was led by Ben Loudermilk, who finished with a four-under 68, and now leads the tournament by a shot over Mount Olive's Brice Ballin (74-70—144). Loudermilk made seven birdies in Round 2 and has 10 birdies total for the tournament.
Two other Belmont Abbey golfers,
Connor Fahey (75-72—147) and
Jacob Ferrari (77-73—150), are tied for 7th and 10th, respectively.
Jack Warren (80-76—156, T-27) and
Andrew Rose (79-83—162, T-37) rounded out the team competing for the Abbey.
The final round will tee off beginning at 9 a.m. off the first and 10th tees. The Crusaders will be in the final group with Erskine and Barton beginning at 9:45 a.m. off the first tee.
