CENTRAL, S.C. -- Brian Sause just missed the school record in the 3000m Steeplechase and Luke Thierfelder won his fourth javelin competition in as many outings this spring to highlight Belmont Abbey's first day of the GottaRun Invite Friday afternoon.

Sause posted a time of 9:38.62 to finished second overall. His time was more than 16 seconds better than his previous best and just 0.13 seconds off the school record set in 2014.
