Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Arsenault Leads Crusaders Past Queens 10-6

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Riley Arsenault scored three goals to lead the Belmont Abbey Men's Lacrosse team past #12-ranked Queens 10-6 this afternoon.  The Abbey is now 2-4 on the season.  The Royals are now 4-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • It only took Noah Haas a minute and a half into the game to put the Crusaders on the board first, and The Abbey never looked back from there
  • Austin Hasen and Noah Sexton also scored in the opening quarter, and the game was tied at three when the period ended
  • In the second, Arsenault scored three times.  Haas also scored off a pass from Bailey Williams, giving Belmont Abbey an 8-3 halftime lead.  The defense was also strong, giving up just seven shots on goal and forcing five Queens turnovers in the quarter
  • A man-up goal by Williams was the only goal in the third.  The defense was again fantastic in this quarter, allowing just five shots and forcing eight turnovers
  • Erik Sahlgren found the back of the net three minutes into the fourth.  The Royals scored once after that, but it was not enough, as BAC finished off the 10-6 victory
  • On the day, Arsenault led the Crusaders with three goals
  • Haas and Sexton each scored twice.  On the defensie side, Matthew Wyatt caused three Queens turnovers
  • Brady Smith won eight faceoffs, and Thomas Sullivan made a season-high 20 saves in goal
