SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- For the second straight game,
Chandler Baker scored a team-high 20 points, leading Belmont Abbey to a 96-79 victory over Converse in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Tuesday night. The win was the fifth straight for the Crusaders, who improve to 14-8 overall, 12-6 in league play.
Three other players reached double figures.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bosco Bojovic scored 16 points and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.
- Mario Lacy added 16 points and eight rebounds, while Sean Halloran dished out eight assists to go along with 14 points.
- The Crusaders shot 53.5 percent in the contest, while limiting the Valkyries to 45.2 percent.
- The Abbey also held a 45-28 rebounding edge, including 11 offensive boards.
- Converse led 14-10 with 13:45 left in the first half, but the Crusaders scored nine in a row and never trailed again. A 23-point lead midway through the second was the biggest of the game.
