BELMONT, N.C. - Matthew Wyatt scored twice, but the Belmont Abbey Men's Lacrosse team lost a 10-6 contest to #11-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne this afternoon.  The Crusaders are now 0-4.  The Bears improve to 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first quarter was a defensive battle, as neither team gave up a goal and forced multiple turnovers
  • In the second, the Bears scored early, going up 4-0 before Noah Sexton got The Abbey on the board
  • Wyatt scored in the final second of the quarter, pulling the Crusaders to within four, 6-2, at halftime
  • The opening half of the third was all Abbey.  Wyatt found the back of the net for a man-up goal 2:40 into the period.  Less than a minute later, Bailey Williams made it a 6-4 game
  • A Connor Nolt goal at the 7:15 mark made it four straight Abbey goals and a -5 lead for L-R.  The Bears led 9-5 heading into the fourth quarter
  • The fourth was mostly a defensive fight, with each team only giving up one goal.  Austin Hasen scored a man-up goal for the Crusaders off a pass from Michael Canavan
