BELMONT, N.C. – Brittany Autry recorded her ninth double-double of the season as he Belmont Abbey women's basketball team pulled away with a 60-50 victory over Converse in a Conference Carolinas contest Tuesday at the Wheeler Center.
Autry finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks in the win with
Jo Snow added 15 points, included three 3-pointers.
The Crusaders moved to 16-7 overall, 14-5 in conference play while Converse is now 3-20, 2-18 respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Taylor Stelley got the Crusaders on the board with a 3-pointer on the opening shot of the game.
- Brittany Autry scored the next five points of the quarter for the Crusaders.
- Autry kept up her strong first half by scoring the first seven points of the quarter for The Abbey. Her basket with 2:16 left in the half gave the Crusaders their first lead at 24-23. She finished the half with 16 points.
- Jo Snow scored eight points in the second quarter, including a 3-pointer with 4 seconds left in the second quarter to give Belmont Abbey a 29-26 halftime lead.
- Belmont Abbey pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Valkyries 23-8 in the period.
- Stelley finished with a game-high eight assists.
- Peyton Nation led the team with four steals.
- Belmont Abbey finished with a 40-33 advantage in rebounds.
- The Crusaders held the Valkyries to 30.2 percent from the field for the game.
