PEMBROKE, N.C. -
Brittany Autry recorded a double-double, but the Belmont Abbey women's basketball team lost 61-57 this afternoon at UNC Pembroke. The Abbey is now 15-7 on the season, with a 13-5 Conference Carolinas record. The Braves are now 15-8 overall, and 13-6 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Autry scored all eight Abbey points in the opening quarter. The Crusaders trailed 12-8 when the quarter expired
- A couple of 5-0 spurts by the Crusaders in the second tied the game at 18. The Braves led 22-20 at halftime
- Trailing by 10 midway through the third, Abigail Crain made a layup to pull The Abbey to within four, 41-37. UNCP led 45-38 when the quarter ended
- The teams traded baskets early in the fourth. Jo Snow scored the last seven Abbey points of the game, but BAC lost 61-57
- On the day, Autry was the Crusaders' leader with 19 points and 13 rebounds, her eighth double-double this year
- Snow added 17 points
