PEMBROKE, N.C. -- 
Chandler Baker and 
Sean Halloran each topped double figures but a second-half shooting surge lifted No. 5 UNC Pembroke to a 89-75 victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolina men's basketball action on Saturday. The decision snapped a six-game winning streak by the Crusaders (15-9, 13-7).
The Braves (21-2, 18-2) shot 64.3 percent in the second half, while limiting The Abbey, which went to overtime last night at Chowan, to just 43.9 percent after intermission.
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Baker tallied 13 points, while Halloran added 10.
- Mario Lacy just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
- Quest Aldridge dished out seven assists and made three steals.
- UNCP used a 13-0 run around halftime to seize control of the contest. Trailing 37-33 2:57 before intermission, the Braves scored the last seven points of the period, then started the second with six straight.
- Belmont Abbey finished the game shooting 43.9 percent, while the hosts ended at 50.0 percent. The Braves also held a 41-36 rebounding edge.
- The game featured eight ties and 10 lead changes, all in the first half.
