Wade Jackson scored a season-high 25 points and
Charles Solomon and
Mario Lacy, Jr., both posted double-doubles, leading Belmont Abbey to an 80-65 victory over Limestone non-conference men's basketball action Saturday afternoon. The win was the second straight at home for the Crusaders (2-4), while the Saints fall to 1-5.
Solomon tallied 12 points and 11 rebounds, while adding five assists, while Lacy's double-double featured 10 points and 12 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mason Taylor also topped double figures in scoring with 12 points.
- Belmont Abbey held a 43-227 advantage on the boards and limited the Saints to 36.7 percent shooting from the field.
- Solomon's double-double was his second of the season and sixth of his career, while Lacy's was his first of the year and 13th overall.
- Jackson's scoring output was also a collegiate career-high. A transfer from Loyola (Md.), he shared the assist lead with five.
- Belmont Abbey hit 57.1 percent from the field in the first half and 50.9 percent overall.
- The Crusaders led for 38:44 of the 40 minutes, trailing only at 3-2 before a Lacy dunk and free throw and Ryan Maslow three-pointer.
