CENTRAL, S.C. --
Mario Lacy, Jr., tallied 17 points and eight rebounds and
Charles Solomon registered his third double-double in four games, lifting Belmont Abbey to an 83-67 victory over Southern Wesleyan in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Wednesday night.
With their third straight win, the Crusaders improve to 3-4 on the season and 2-0 in league play while the Warriors fall to 0-7, 0-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crusaders placed five players in double figures. In addition to Lacy and Solomon, Mason Taylor tallied 16 points, Wade Jackson 15 and Kyle Frazier 12.
- Solomon scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
- Seven different players registered at least one assist with the team totaling 15.
- Belmont Abbey out-rebounded Southern Wesleyan 37-30, while forcing six more turnovers. The Crusaders' seven equaled their season-low.
- The Crusaders hit 55.9 percent from the field after intermission, stretching a seven-point lead at the break to a 16-point win.
- The Abbey led by as many as 18 points late in the contest, holding the advantage for almost 34 of the 40 minutes.
