BELMONT, N.C. – Abigail Kane scored her first goal of the season for the Belmont Abbey field hockey team as the Crusaders hosted Mount Olive in a South Atlantic Conference game Saturday at Alumni Field.
Belmont Abbey got on the board first but it was the Trojans who came away with the 2-1 victory.
The Crusaders are now 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the SAC. Mount Olive is 4-3 overall and remains unbeaten in league play with a 4-0 mark.
- HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crusaders were able to draw a pair of penalty corners within the first 3:15 of the game.
- Kane's goal came at the 3:29 mark of the first quarter.
- Mount Olive responded quickly with a goal at the 5:08 mark to pull even at 1-1.
- The Trojans took the lead at the 9:20 mark of the third quarter.
- Belmont Abbey and Mount Olive both finished with seven shots and five on target.
- Chloe Parker finished with three saves.
- Belmont Abbey drew 11 penalty corners compared to five for Mount Olive.
