MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey field hockey team faced off against Mount Olive for the third time this season Wednesday in a South Atlantic Conference contest. The Crusaders saw their three-game winning streak come to an end as Mount Olive earned a 3-0 victory over The Abbey.

Belmont Abbey is now 6-6 overall, 5-3 in the SAC. Mount Olive improves to 10-3 overall and a 10-0 record in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Trojans took an early 1-0 lead 31 seconds into the game and took a 2-0 lead three minutes into the second quarter.
• Abigail Kane recorded the first shot of the game for the Crusaders four minutes into the second quarter.
• Belmont Abbey finished with four shots for the game, one on goal.
• Mount Olive added a third goal in the third quarter.
• Kaylee Wenzel made her second start of the season for Belmont Abbey.
• Chloe Parker made eight saves during the contest.
