BELMONT, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey Women's Volleyball honored three seniors Saturday afternoon with a split of two matches at the Wheeler Center. The Crusaders dropped a 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-12) decision to Conference Carolinas opponent Francis Marion, then earned a 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-18) non-conference victory over Emory & Henry.
With the results, The Abbey improves to 6-23 overall and 3-11 in league play.
Prior to the first match, seniors
Baylea Botello,
Caitlyn Faber and
Ally Jones were recognized.
THE OPENER
- Faber posted her seventh double-double of the season and 17th of her career. She tallied 17 assists and 10 digs, both team highs. She also had four kills and a service ace.
- Jenna McCullough led the offensive attack with five kills. Sarah Wilson added four.
- Wilson posted three blocks, while Faber and McCullough had two each.
- Zoe Schuberth added seven digs.
THE NIGHTCAP
- Cameron Young tallied 10 kills with Botello adding nine with a .467 hitting percentage. McCullough was credited with eight kills.
- Young also registered 11 digs for her third double-double of the year
- Faber dished out 26 assists.
- Schuberth led the defensive effort with 12 digs.

- Belmont Abbey closes the regular season with three straight road matches.
