Crusaders Close Regular Season at Emmanuel

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. – The Belmont Abbey women's soccer team closed the regular season with a road match against Emmanuel Saturday.
 
Both teams were scoreless in the first half but the Lions scored the only goal of the match in the second half and earn the 1-0 victory.
 
Belmont Abbey closes the regular season with an 8-7-2 overall record and a 7-4-1 record in Conference Carolinas. Emmanuel finishes the 2022 at 8-8-1 overall, 7-5 in the league.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Logan Parry took the first shot for the Crusaders in the 27th minute of the match.
  • Both teams combined for four shots in the first 45 minutes.
  • Emmanuel scored in the 53rd minute in what proved to be the only shot on goal in the match.
  • Belmont Abbey finished with three corner kicks.
  • The Crusaders finished with four shots.

  • Belmont Abbey will be the No. 5 seed in the Conference Carolinas Tournament.
  • The Crusaders will host No. 8 seed Chowan in the first round at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Alumni Field. The winner will play at No. 4 seed Lees-McRae at 2 p.m. next Saturday.
