MURFREESBORO, N.C. -- Sarah Wilson and Mia Samaha had five kills each, but Chowan posted a 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-22) victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Saturday afternoon.

With the result, the Crusaders fall to 5-20 overall and 3-8 in league play. Chowan improves to 9-19, 5-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Baylea Botello tallied four kills and had a block solo.
• Ella Schellenburg had 13 assists and six digs, while Caitlyn Faber added six assists.
• Zoe Schuberth led the defensive effort with 11 digs. She also served two of the Crusaders' four aces.
• Trinity Bradley, Caroline Dobson and Samaha also had six digs.

UP NEXT

• The Crusaders return home to the Wheeler Center Monday night to face Mount Olive.
• The matchup between the teams will be the second in four days as the Trojans earned a 3-0 win Friday night.
• The contest was originally scheduled for Oct. 1, but postponed by Hurricane Ian.
