Brianna Sroka had four saves each, but Mount Olive escaped Belmont Abbey 2-0 in Conference Carolinas women's soccer action Tuesday afternoon. The Trojans tallied a goal midway through each half for the victory.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 5-6-2, 4-3-1 in league play. UMO improves to 10-4-0, 8-1-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mount Olive converted a breakaway at the 25:17 mark for the 1-0 lead, then knocked in a rebound off a corner kick at 73:01.
- The Trojans held a 22-6 overall advantage in shot, including 11-3 on goal.
- Six different Crusaders attempted shots (Anna Richard, Goose Andrews, Paige D'Agostin, Mia Muckenthaler, Gabriella Enciso and Alyssa Espinosa). Kicks by Richard, D'Agostin and Enciso required saves by the UMO keeper.
- Each team tallied five corner kicks.
- Defender Ella McDonald saved a off the line to prevent a third UMO score.Â
