BELMONT, N.C. - Goose Andrews found the back of the net in the 50th minute, but the Belmont Abbey women's soccer team lost a 2-1 contest to Carson-Newman.  The Abbey is now 0-2 on the season, while the Eagles are now 1-1-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Eagles struck first, with goals in the 34th and 36th minutes
• The Crusader defense stepped up in the second half, limiting the Eagles' shooting
• Andrews' goal in the 50th minute was one of seven shots taken by The Abbey, giving the Crusaders a solid shooting percentage
• Lauryn Harding and Brianna Sroka combined to make 12 saves in goal
