BELMONT, N.C. -- After 10 straight matches away from home to open the 2021 women's volleyball season, Belmont Abbey hosted a game in the Wheeler Center on Wednesday night, but UNC Pembroke captured a 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-19) victory over the Crusaders.
The match was the conference opener for The Abbey (0-11, 0-1), while the Braves improve to 9-5, 2-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- On a night when she was celebrated for her 1,000th dig earlier this season, Hailey Ryan added a team-high 17 to her total. She now has 1,065.
- Paige Rawlins tallied 15 assists and two service aces, both team highs. She also added nine digs.
- Mia Samaha and Bailey Rose were the attack leaders with four kills each.
