ERIE, Pa. -- Freshman Chloe Parker recorded her first career shutout and Gianna Conti scored two more goals to lead Belmont Abbey to a 5-0 victory over Mercyhurst Friday afternoon in nonconference action. It was the first of two road contests this weekend for the Crusaders, who moved to 2-0 overall while the Lakers fell to 0-3 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After registering a hat trick Tuesday, Conti opened the scoring off an assist from Jessica Rybicki with 8:24 left in the first quarter. She added the second goal unassisted with 8:29 left in the first half.
  • With 6:52 left in the first quarter, freshman Casey Etter made it 2-0 for her first career goal.
