BELMONT, N.C. - The Belmont Abbey women's soccer team held Southern Wesleyan scoreless, though the match ended in a 0-0 draw on Senior Night. The Abbey finishes its regular season with a 3-1-3 record. SWU finished its regular season with a 1-7-1 record.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Goose Andrews only needed five minutes into the contest to take the first shot
- By halftime, the Crusaders outshot the Warriors 5-1
- The Abbey came out firing in the second half, as Tatiana Daugherty took two shots in the first two minutes of the period
- Later in the half, there were offensive opportunities when the Crusaders had two corner kicks in less than a minute
- Near the later stages of the half, BAC took three shots on goal in a span of four and a half minutes
- Daugherty made the final effort of regulation, but the game remained scoreless after 90 minutes of action
- The Crusaders took four shots in the two overtime periods, but unfortunately did not find the back of the net, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw
- On the night, Daugherty's six shots were the game's high
- Belmont Abbey had a very strong defensive performance, limiting Southern Wesleyan to just three shots on the night
