BELMONT, N.C. --
Paige Rawlins and
Katie Williams both posted double-doubles, but North Greenville held off a valiant effort by Belmont Abbey in a 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 33-31) victory in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Tuesday afternoon.
With the loss, The Abbey falls to 5-8, 3-7, while NGU improves to 8-0, 8-0. The two teams will meet again at 5 p.m. on Saturday in Conference Carolinas Tournament pool play. BAC, seeded eighth, will also face No. 9 Chowan prior to that.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rawlins tallied 29 assists and 10 digs for her ninth double-double of the year. She also added three kills in nine attempts.
- Williams had a team-high 10 kills, while also equaling the team-high mark of 10 digs. She also chipped in two assists and two blocks.Â
- Hailey Ryan was a third defensive standout, adding 10 kills as well. She had two assists and two assists.
- Bailey Rose tallied six blocks.
UP NEXT
- The Crusaders pool will take place at top-seeded North Greenville. The top team in the tri-match will advance to the semfinals.
- The Chowan match will start at 2:30 p.m. followed at 5 by the NGU rematch.
