D'Andrea Scores Five Goals in Championship Game

Box Score TIGERVILLE, S.C. - Riley D'Andrea scored five goals, but the Belmont Abbey Women's Lacrosse team lost 23-16 to top-seeded Mount Olive this afternoon.  Belmont Abbey is now 11-4 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Angelina Perrone put the Crusaders on the board early.  Then Kylie Eastman scored two goals and assisted on another to put the Crusaders in front 4-0
  • Two free position goals in 26 seconds made it a 6-1 Abbey lead.  Alyssa Pearson scored at the 2:22 mark, and Belmont Abbey held a 9-8 lead at halftime
  • It did not take D'Andrea long into the second to tally a man-up goal off a pass by Pearson.  Perrone scored back-to-back goals to put the Crusaders in front 12-9
  • Unfortunately for the Crusaders, the Trojans scored five in a row.  With 18:06 to play, D'Andrea scored another man-up goal.  She would score a man-down goal which would by the final goal of the day, and UMO wrapped up the 23-16 win
  • On the day, D'Andrea was The Abbey leader with five goals
  • Perrone scored four goals and handed out an assist.  She also won seven draw controls and picked up a game-high six ground balls
