Kylie Eastman showed why she was named the Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year, as she tallied 10 points in Belmont Abbey's 20-3 victory over the number 3 seed Barton this afternoon. The win puts the Crusaders at 11-3 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It took Emma Pherson less than a minute into the contest to put the Crusaders on the board. After Barton tied the game at one, Belmont Abbey proceeded to score three goals in three minutes
- The Bulldogs scored a goal at the 7:21 mark, but it would be the last one they would score in the game. Eastman scored just 15 seconds after the Barton goal, and set up Jenn Smith for a man-up goal, and a 9-3 Abbey lead at halftime
- The second half was all Abbey. Angelina Perrone scored three goals in the first four minutes. After that, Smith scored three straight goals. Two straight goals by Pherson made it a 17-3 Abbey lead
- Alyssa Pearson scored the final goal of the day to help the Crusaders wrap up the 20-3 victory
- On the day, Eastman was the Crusader leader, with four goals and six assists
- Perrone and Smith each scored four goals. Riley D'Andrea contributed two goals and three assists
- As a unit, Belmont Abbey won 18 of the game's 25 draw controls, led by Kate Roberts' nine, followed by eight for Perrone
- Belmont Abbey outshot Barton 44-14

Belmont Abbey will face the top-seeded Mount Olive on Sunday, April 25 at 1 p.m. The game will be played on the campus of North Greenville.
