4/23/2021 4:32:00 PM

Box Score TIGERVILLE, S.C. - Kylie Eastman showed why she was named the Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year, as she tallied 10 points in Belmont Abbey's 20-3 victory over the number 3 seed Barton this afternoon.  The win puts the Crusaders at 11-3 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • It took Emma Pherson less than a minute into the contest to put the Crusaders on the board.  After Barton tied the game at one, Belmont Abbey proceeded to score three goals in three minutes
  • The Bulldogs scored a goal at the 7:21 mark, but it would be the last one they would score in the game.  Eastman scored just 15 seconds after the Barton goal, and set up Jenn Smith for a man-up goal, and a 9-3 Abbey lead at halftime
  • The second half was all Abbey.  Angelina Perrone scored three goals in the first four minutes.  After that, Smith scored three straight goals.  Two straight goals by Pherson made it a 17-3 Abbey lead
  • Alyssa Pearson scored the final goal of the day to help the Crusaders wrap up the 20-3 victory
  • On the day, Eastman was the Crusader leader, with four goals and six assists
  • Perrone and Smith each scored four goals.  Riley D'Andrea contributed two goals and three assists
  • As a unit, Belmont Abbey won 18 of the game's 25 draw controls, led by Kate Roberts' nine, followed by eight for Perrone
  • Belmont Abbey outshot Barton 44-14
