BELMONT, N.C. --
Matteo Miselli and
Andrew Kohut each topped double figures in kill and Belmont Abbey hit .279 as a team, leading the Crusaders to a 3-0 (28-26, 25-16, 25-22) victory over Lees-McRae in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action Tuesday afternoon.
The Abbey improves to 12-7 overall and 8-5 in league play and guarantees itself no worse than the No. 5 seed at next month's Conference Carolinas championship. Lees-McRae falls to 2-16, 2-10.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Miselli tallied 15 kills and hit .242, while Kohut added 12 kills.
- Brian Long hit .444 with nine kills against one error in 44 swings.
- Brennan Davis dished out 41 assists, while adding an ace and five digs.
- Daniel Cerqua led the defensive effort with 10 digs. Miselli and Kohut chipped in nine and eight, respectively.
- The Crusaders avenged at five-set loss at Lees-McRae earlier this year.
