DUE WEST, S.C. – The Belmont Abbey baseball team split the doubleheader with Erskine Friday to begin the Conference Carolinas series. The Abbey move to 13-8 on the year with a 12-6 conference record as Erskine move to 12-8 and 9-3 in league play.
Game One
Erskine 8, Belmont Abbey 7

• Danny Cruz went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
• Mason Dodd Crushed his second home run of the season.
• Sean Johnson hit a two-run double.
• Ben Ferguson also recorded a hit in the game.
• Jason White threw three innings allowing five runs on nine hits while striking out two.

Game Two
Belmont Abbey6, Erskine 3

• The Crusaders scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth.
• Adam Overcash went 3-for-5 with a home run in the ninth.
• Dodd, Cruz, and Kale Rhame all collected two hits in the game.
• Ben Ferguson crushed his third homer of the season.
• Rhame blasted his first home run of the season.
• Sam High pitched 6.2 innings allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out eight.
• Dylan Smith earned the win pitching a perfect ninth with three strikeouts.
