VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Sophomore Thomas Thierfelder ran a career-best time of 1:58.5 in the 800 meters to top the podium at the 2021 Conference Carolinas Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships Monday afternoon. With the mark -- just 0.78 seconds off the school record -- Thierfelder earned first-team all-conference honors.

Freshman Abraham Fuentez also came close to a school record, turning in a 7.14 time in the 60 in both his qualifying heat and the final. The best time in school history was just one-tenth of a second faster at 7.04.

As a team, the men finished sixth with 40 points.
