Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Haas, Deloriers Each Score Three Goals Against Bears

HICKORY, N.C. - Noah Haas and Nick Deloriers each scored three times, though the Belmont Abbey men's lacrosse team lost a 14-11 contest to no. 8-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne this afternoon. The loss puts The Abbey at 0-2 on the year, while L-R moves to 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Two goals by Haas in the first gave BAC a 3-1 lead.  It didn't take long for Neil Lingerman to make it a 4-1 advantage. The Abbey led 4-2 when the first quarter expired.
  • In the second, a man-up goal by Deloriers put the Crusaders up 6-3. L-R would tie the game at six, but the Crusaders responded with a goal right away, and Austin Hasen found the back of the net in the final 20 seconds of the period to give BAC an 8-6 lead at halftime
  • In the third, the Bears built an 11-9 lead, but a score by Deloriers pulled The Abbey back to within one heading into the final period
  • Deloriers again scored in the fourth, but he was the only Abbey player to do so, as L-R wrapped up the 14-11 win
  • On the day, Haas and Deloriers led the Crusaders with three goals and one assist each
  • Pat Doering caused three turnovers. Brady Smith won 14 of his 28 faceoffs.  Bryce Gifford made 13 saves in goal
