BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey baseball team opened the season with a doubleheader sweep of Chowan. 
Jason White tossed a one-hit shutout to capture the win in game one. The 6-0 win was head coach 
Chris Anderson's 200
th career victory, all at Belmont Abbey. The Crusaders earned the 3-1 win in game two moving to 2-0 in the season and 2-0 in Conference Carolinas play.
Game One 
Belmont Abbey 6, Chowan 0
	- Jason White gave up only one hit, the knock coming with two out in the seventh inning.
 
	- White struck out 12 batters in his first win of the season.
 
	- Adam Overcash went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
 
	- Mason Dodd and Nick Mauer both drove in runs in the win.
 
	- The win was Chis Anderson's 200th career win in his eighth season at the helm for the Crusaders.
 
Game Two
Belmont Abbey 3, Chowan 1
	- Sam High pitched six innings allowing just three hits, one run, while striking out 10.
 
	- The Abbey had three doubles as a part of their five hits.
 
	- Dodd and Ben Ferguson both drive in runs of The Abbey.
 
	- Charlie Cochran, Joe Cooney, and Dylan Smith all tossed an inning in relief to seal the win.
