BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey baseball team finished the sweep of Chowan earning a 7-4 and 13-3. The Abbey improves to 4-0 on the season and in Conference Carolinas play. Chowan moves to 0-4 on the year and in league play.
Game One Recap
Belmont Abbey 7, Chowan 4

• The Crusaders collected eight hits and five RBI in game one.
• Zach Aehlert and Sean Johnson both collected two hits.
• Alex Sniffen started the game and tossed 4.2 innings allowing two runs on one hits while striking out seven.
• Joe Cooney picked up his first win of the year.
• Dylan Smith earned his second save of the year throwing an inning and striking out three.

Belmont Abbey 13, Chowan 3

• Mason Dodd went 3-for-3 with four RBI.
• Ben Gobbel and Richard DeLaCruz both drove in runs.
• Griffin Baker earned his first win of the year pitching four innings allowing three runs on five hits striking out eight.
