Jo Snow led a quartet of Crusaders who scored in double figures as the Belmont Abbey women's basketball team earned a 78-74 victory at Barton this afternoon. The win puts The Abbey at 4-3 on the season, with a 2-1 Conference Carolinas record. Barton is now 6-1 overall, with a 2-1 conference mark.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A handful of different Crusaders scored in the opening quarter, which ended with Barton leading 20-10
- In the middle of the second, Kelli Thomas scored six straight Crusader points, bringing The Abbey to within eight at 32-24. A 3-pointer by Snow in the last 20 seconds brought BAC to within two points at halftime, 34-32
- The third quarter was back and forth. Midway through the period, Belmont Abbey went on a 7-1 run, including five straight points by Brittany Autry
- Later in the quarter, Snow scored seven straight Abbey points to give the Crusaders a 48-47 lead with 1:42 left in the quarter. The Bulldogs led 56-54 heading into the final quarter
- The fourth quarter had a lot of ties and lead changes, until Abigail Crain knocked down a 3-point shot at the 4:47 mark to put The Abbey in front for good. BAC led by as many as seven in the quarter and finished with the 78-74 win
- On the day, Snow was the Crusaders' leader, with 21 points and six rebounds
- Keyanna Spivey added 11 points and nine boards

Belmont Abbey will return to the Wheeler Center on Saturday, December 11, when it welcomes Emmanuel. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m.
