MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. --
Sean Halloran tallied a team-season-high 27 points and Mario Lacy posted his second double-double of year, but a late rally fell short, 78-75 at Mount Olive Friday night.
The Crusaders (4-3, 2-1) trailed by as many as 16 points in the first half and by 14 midway through the second before closing to within one, twice in the final minute.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Halloran hit 11 of 18 from the field (three of five three-pointers) and both attempts at the free-throw line. He also added three assists and three rebounds.
- Lacy tallied 13 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds (11 defensive, while Chandler Baker also reached double figures with 12 points.
- The Crusaders shot 52.6 percent overall from the field (30 of 57), while holding the Trojans (3-3, 2-1) to 47.4 percent.
- The Abbey held a 39-20 advantage on the boards, but committed 18 turnovers to UMO's nine.
