Crusaders Close Nonconference Play Against USC Aiken

BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey men's basketball team hosted USC Aiken in a matinee nonconference game Friday at the Wheeler Center. The Crusaders got off to a strong start but fell 78-65 to the Pacers.

Belmont Abbey is now 4-2 on the season while USC Aiken moves to 3-2. It was the final nonconference game of the regular season for the Pacers. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Chandler Baker scored 10 of the first 12 points of the game for The Abbey. He finished with a season-high 18 points and added four rebounds.
  • Belmont Abbey got off to a strong start with a 7-0 run.
  • A Prince Davies layup with 12:19 left in the first half gave the Crusaders an 18-7 lead, the team's largest of the half.
  • Bosko Bojovic made his first start of the season for the Crusaders. He finished with seven points and a season-high nine rebounds.
  • The Crusaders shot 60.9% from the field in the first half.
  • Sean Halloran had 11 points for The Abbey, his fourth straight game in double figures. He also had five assists.
  • Ryan Maslow had two blocks for Belmont Abbey.
