BELMONT, N.C. -
Goose Andrews scored the game-winner with a goal in the 22nd minute, and the Belmont Abbey women's soccer team earned a 2-0 win over Emmanuel this evening. The Crusaders now stand at 3-5-1 on the season, with a 3-2-1 conference mark. The Lions are now 2-7-0 overall, and 1-5-0 against conference opponents. It was the second shutout win in a row for Belmont Abbey.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crusaders got two shots up in the first five minutes of the game
- When the 22nd minute started, Andrews found the back of the net off a pass from Emma Roche. The Abbey led 1-0 at halftime
- In the second, the Crusaders again came out firing, taking two shots in the first six minutes of the half
- In the 57th minute, Logan Parry made it a 2-0 BAC lead
- Callen Johnson's four shots led Belmont Abbey. The Crusader defense gave up just four shots on the night
