Goose Andrews scored the game's only goal, leading the Belmont Abbey women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at Chowan this afternoon. It was the third shutout victory in a row for the Crusaders, who now hold a 4-5-1 record, including a 4-2-1 conference mark. Chowan is now 2-8-0 on the season, and 2-5-0 against Conference Carolinas opponents.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half was a defensive battle, as Chowan outshot BAC 6-4
- In the 55th minute, Andrews found the back of the net for the Abbey lead and the game winner
- The Crusader defense was exceptional in the second half, giving up just three shots
- Andrews led The Abbey with seven shots, and the goal, while Logan Parry took three
- The Abbey defense gave up just nine shots in the match
