Crusaders Earn Second Straight Shutout

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Meadoe Harrell-Alvarez and Casey Etter both scored goals as the Belmont Abbey field hockey team earned a 2-0 win over Lindenwood in a neutral site game that was played at Queens.  The Crusaders now stand at 9-5 on the season.  Lindenwood is now 6-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harrell-Alvarez scored on the first Abbey shot of the game, nine minutes into the contest. Casey Etter was credited with the assist on the play. 
  • The Abbey led 1-0 at halftime. 
  • Casey Etter came out shooting in the third, and found the back of the net midway through the quarter.  BAC held a 2-0 lead heading into the final period
  • The defense held the Lions to just two shots in the fourth to close out the 2-0 victory
  • Etter's five shots on the day led all players
  • Chloe Parker made five saves in goal

Belmont Abbey will return to conference action when it visits Converse on Tuesday, October 26 for a 7 p.m. contest.
