Box Score BELMONT, N.C. - Kylie Eastman scored six goals as the Belmont Abbey women's lacrosse team cruised past Chowan 19-3 this afternoon. The Abbey now stands at 6-2 on the season, with a 3-0 Conference Carolinas record. The Hawks are now 1-6 overall, and 1-3 in conference play.
How it Happened
- Jenn Smith only needed 12 seconds into the contest to get the Crusaders on the board, and The Abbey never looked back from there. She scored again a minute and a half later
- Eastman scored twice in a five-minute span to put The Abbey in front 7-0. Jenna Niedzwiedzki scored a man-up goal just 27 seconds later
- Alyssa capped off the half for the Crusaders, who led 11-0 at halftime. The stubborn Abbey defense only gave up five shots in the half
- Pearson got the Belmont Abbey offense started in the second, with a goal in the first minute of the half
- Maggie Stocking scored a man-up goal at the 18:58 mark to make it a 16-0 Abbey lead. After that, Allison Cline scored back-to-back Abbey goals, before Eastman capped off the scoring with a man-up goal
- On the day, Eastman was the Crusaders' leader, with six goals and three assists
- Jenn Smith scored four goals and handed out an assist. Niedzwiedzki won a game-high six draw controls
- As a unit, the Crusaders outshot the Hawks 39-13, and picked up 27 ground balls, to Chowan's 14
