Box Score BELMONT, N.C. - Kylie Eastman recorded six goals and two assists to lead the Belmont Abbey Women's Lacrosse team to an 18-2 win over Southern Wesleyan this afternoon. The Abbey finished its regular season with a 10-7 record, including an 8-2 record against Conference Carolinas opponents. The Warriors wrap up their regular season with a 5-11 record, including 4-6 in conference play.
How it Happened
- The Crusader offense came out shooting right from the start, and Eastman scored just 29 seconds into the contest
- Just 23 seconds later, Marin Felsoci made it a 2-0 Abbey lead. Later in the half, Felsoci scored just 15 seconds after a Jenna Niedzwiedzki score to make it a 5-0 game. The defense also played strong, not giving up a shot in the first five minutes of the contest
- At the 15:05 mark, Angelina Perrone made it a 6-0 Crusader lead off a pass from Eastman. Just nine seconds later, Eastman tallied a score, and Cavanaugh put The Abbey in front 8-0 just 13 seconds later
- Eastman capped off the scoring for the half with a goal at the 6:16 mark, and Belmont Abbey led 12-0 at halftime. The Crusaders outshot the Warriors 24-4 in the half
- Perrone got the scoring started in the second. Eastman scored a man-up goal with 16:55 left in the contest, and another at the 12:37 mark
- Felsoci capped off the scoring with a man-down goal at the 1:58 mark, and Belmont Abbey wrapped up the 18-2 victory
- On the day, Eastman was the Crusader leader offensively, with six goals and two assists
- Marissa Laidley was the defensive leader with two caused turnovers and four ground balls
- Eastman and Felsoci each had four draw controls, tying for the game-high
- As a team, BAC outshot SWU 43-12, and picked up 28 ground balls to the Warriors' 14
