Box Score BELMONT, N.C. - Kylie Eastman scored eight goals on 14 shots in today's women's lacrosse season opener against Lenoir-Rhyne University. The Crusaders lost the contest 16-13.
How it Happened
- Marin Felsoci got the scoring started just 1:50 into the game. Then at the 26:01 mark Eastman put The Abbey up 2-1
- Felsoci scored again at the 17:43 mark to tie the game at three. Then two free position goals put the Bears up 5-3
- A Katie Cavanaugh score with 5:54 in the period pulled the Crusaders to within two at 8-6
- Madison Eberhardt found the back of the net with 19 seconds left, and Belmont Abbey trailed 10-7 at halftime. BAC picked up 10 ground balls in the half
- Lenoir-Rhyne got a man-up goal early in the second, but the Crusader defense would not give up a Bears goal for the next 10 minutes
- With 16:59 in the game, Allison Cline tallied her first goal of the season to make it a 14-9 Bears lead
- Lenoir-Rhyne scored a goal at the 10:39 mark, but Eastman got two scores of her own in a 1:08 span to bring The Abbey to within a 16-12 margin
- Eastman scored again with 6:32 to play, but it was the last goal for The Abbey, who took the 16-13 loss
- On the day, Eastman's eight goals led the Crusaders offensively. She also picked up a team-high six ground balls
- Annie Brannon and Elizabeth O'Hagan each made five saves in goal
