Box Score TIGERVILLE, S.C. - Rebecca Luca tallied three goals against top-seeded Limestone, but the Crusaders lost the contest 18-8. Belmont Abbey concludes its season with a 14-6 record. Limestone now stands at 16-2.
The Crusaders jumped out to a hot start, with Rebecca Stromberg scoring a goal just 1:22 into the game. Just 42 seconds later, Kylie Eastman made it a 2-0 lead. 1:12 after that, Eastman set up Felsoci for a goal and an early 3-0 lead. The Saints scored the game's next two goals, before Luca put the lead back to two with a score at the 23:35 mark. Unfortunately by halftime, Limestone built a 12-4 lead. The Abbey did win nine draw controls in the half to Limestone's eight.
Luca was the first Crusader to score in the second, which made it a 13-5 Saints lead. With 18:59 to play, Angelina Perrone found the back of the net. Allison Cline was the next to score, making it a 14-7 game. Luca capped off The Abbey's scoring with a goal at the 7:53 mark to make it a 16-8 game. The Saints, however, closed out the contest with an 18-8 win.
On the day Luca led the Crusaders' offensive efforts with three goals and an assist. Felsoci won a game-high 10 draw controls. Annie Brannon made nine saves in goal.
It was Molly Lehman-Lewis' first season as Head Coach at the Abbey.
After the game, Marin Felsoci, Luca, and Stromberg were named to the All-Tournament team.
