WINGATE, N.C. -- Annie Hetzel and Hannah Zenker finished in consecutive places Saturday morning to lead Belmont Abbey to a seventh-place finish among 19 teams at the 2017 Bulldog Stampede, the preview meet for the NCAA Southeast Regional, hosted by Wingate next month.

Hetzel crossed the finish line in 34th place with a time of 25:45.59, with Zenker just 38 hundreths of a second behind. Julia Otranto was 43rd with a time of 26:04.39, while Savannah Lamb rounded out the team score with a time of 27:41.20 for 74th.

Theresa Wilson (85th/28:51.62), Jillian Culbertson (93rd/29:27.25) and Brette Linkenhoker (96th/29:36.56) served as placeholders in the team standings. Gemma Guzman also competed for the Crusaders, finishing 105th with a time of 30:54.75

Wingate took the title with a team score of 43. Katherine Yost of Georgia College won the race in a time of 22:25.39.
