TIGERVILLE, S.C. - The Belmont Abbey women's lacrosse team fought against No. 2-seed Limestone, but the Saints ended up taking a 15-7 victory in the Conference Carolinas semifinals.  The Abbey finishes its season with a 10-8 record.  Limestone is now 16-3 on the year.

Senior Katelin Glass put the Crusaders on the board first, with a goal just 1:15 into the game.  The Saints went on to score the next two goals, but junior Rebecca Stromberg answered by capitalizing on a free position opportunity, tying the game at two.  Just 1:28 later, Glass put The Abbey back on top with a score off a pass from Allison Cline.  Limestone scored the next three goals, but Rebecca Luca stopped the bleeding with a goal at the 11:05 mark.  Then it was senior Kassie Easter, who dashed downfield for a score which tied the game at five with 8:30 in the half.  Limestone scored at the 7:18 mark, but the Crusader defense did not surrender another goal for the rest of the period, and the Saints led 6-5 at halftime.

Limestone scored early in the second half, but Glass again stepped up with a free position goal, pulling The Abbey to within three at 9-6.  Belmont Abbey would get its next score at the 2:48 mark, as Glass set up Madison Eberhardt for a goal.  Limestone, however, came out on top 15-7.

On the day, Glass led the Crusaders with three goals and an assist.  Four other Abbey players scored a goal.  Freshman Amber Eakins caused two Limestone turnovers.  The defense as a unit forced 15. Freshman Marin Felsoci won a team-high five draw controls.  As a unit, the Crusaders picked up 17 ground balls to Limestone's 16.
