Box Score MISENHEIMER, NC - The Belmont Abbey College men's volleyball team fell to second place Pfeiffer University in four sets (20-25, 22-25, 25-21, 19-25) Wednesday night in Misenheimer, NC. With the loss, the Crusaders drop to 14-10 overall and 9-7 in Conference Carolina's play while the Falcons improve to 14-7 overall and 14-3 in conference play.
The Crusaders were paced by junior outside hitter Robert Nixon who led his team with a .368 clip. Senior outside hitter Nolan Albrecht led all players with 20 kills and nine digs. Pfeiffer's Fabio Diniz paced all attackers with a .450 attacking percentage.
The Falcons controlled both the first and second sets with tough serving and a fast offense.
Belmont Abbey responded in the third set with an even start. The Abbey had their first lead of the match at 5-4 and would not have a lead of more than two until 23-21. A pair of Pfeiffer errors sealed the set victory for the Abbey.
Set four was much like the first two with a commanding lead early for Pfeiffer.
The Crusaders are back in action on Friday, April 8 as they host Erskine for Senior Night and a #raisethered event! First serve is slated for 7:00 PM.
