Women's Lacrosse Scores Early & Often In 22-8 Win At Erskine For Third-Straight Victory

Belmont Abbey sophomore Katelin Glass scored four goals and handed out three assists while four other players-Katy Connery, MacKenzie Miller, Rebecca Luca and Rebecca Stromberg-all added three goals as the Crusaders women's lacrosse team rolled past Erskine 22-8 this afternoon in Due West, South Carolina.

The Crusaders score 22 goals for the second straight game as they have outscored their last two opponents 44-11.

Belmont Abbey's winning streak grows to three as it improves to 9-6 overall and 4-3 in Conference Carolinas, while the Flying Fleet end their season with a record of 1-15 overall and 1-7 in Conference Carolinas.

The Crusaders never trailed as they stormed ahead 5-0 and would go on to lead at the half 15-5. Seven different players scored in the first half as Glass netted three of her four goals in the opening half hour.

The Crusaders outscored the Fleet 7-3 in the second half, scoring seven times on 14 shots.

Glass finished with four goals on seven shots with three assists. Connery added three goals on seven shots, Miller and Luca three on four and Stromberg three on three. Caitlin Cook, Shanin Darley and Kassie Easter all added two goals. 

Glass handed out three assists with Darley adding two and Stromberg one.

Connery won nine draw controls and scooped up eight ground balls. Stromberg won eight draw controls as the Crusaders won that category by a 23-9 count. 

The Crusaders outshot Erskine 37-12, won the ground ball count 24-23 and caused 12 turnovers, led by Connery's three. Glass added a pair. Reilly Johnson made just one save.
